Wed Msg: Reflect upon What I Have Done for You in the Past
December 29, 2011 in Words of Wisdom
Scriptures: John 5:24, Hebrews 6:4-8, Revelations 2:11
The year has already drawn to an end while we lived each day and month with the Lord busily. We were so busy that we gasped for air, but now we are standing at the end of this year. Now is a time when we should think about and reflect on the great histories that the Lord has made with us throughout the past year, and we should reflect on the things that each of us has done.
This year was a ‘Year of Great History with the Lord.’ The Lord said, “A great history is anything that you did with Me, whether it was small or big.” Whatever it was, anything that you did with the Lord was a great history. But, what you did away from the Lord, centering on yourself, was a small history.
If you fail to do all the things that you should do in a year, you cannot do them next year because the time will have passed. For this reason, the Lord has been with us in person for the year, working by our side. Because He was with us, we were able to plow through numerous waves. Even though typhoons struck, we have climbed over the mountains that had to be climbed over. And even though it was difficult, we have also crossed over rivers and oceans.
As the body of the Lord, I became the Lord’s hands and feet, and even in the midst of various sufferings, I put in my best effort to receive the spiritual food of the Word, to prepare it, and to give it to you. All of you have done a really great job, eating and drinking that Word and making a great history with the Lord both physically and spiritually.
Even if you haven’t completed any particular great work, just managing yourself and maintaining your faith so that it won’t die is also great work. A life dies if it is not taken care of. Therefore, you have to regard management as important as life.
Besides the Sunday messages, Wednesday messages, morning messages, and other messages, the Lord worked through the Holy Spirit assemblies to set our hearts and souls on fire and thus saved our spirits and bodies. The Lord, Himself, together with the Holy Spirit, has made a history of fiery working of the Holy Spirit. It was indeed a great history.
The Lord worked endlessly through my hands and through the hands of each person-of-mission, and processed various things that had to be decided upon. And He made a great history by holding and lifting up people who were having a tough and difficult time. Through that, the Lord helped those lives receive strength and make a great history.
Whether in the past or during this past year, the Lord has always protected our lives from Satan and evildoers. Also, He granted our earnest prayers. This was also a great history that the Lord made upon us.
One of the most important works that God the Almighty does is dividing the righteous and the sinners. God separates the sheep and the goats, places the sheep on the right and the goats on the left, and has each of them go to the destination that is appropriate for them.
Throughout this past year, as we have seen and heard, numerous people in the world suffered tremendous losses or death. So those who watched those events came to seek God and Jesus, and people came to realize about God as they looked around at their surroundings.
Some were judged because they didn’t serve the eternal God but served idols instead. Some were punished because they sinned by hating their brothers or neighbors. Others sinned and became evildoers by not keeping and putting God’s Word into practice, and were punished according to their deeds. God repays every dot and every line of sin and evil. He also repays every dot and every line of righteous deeds that you have done. He is truly a God who rules over and governs the heavens above and the earth below. God works by using all of creation and by using tens of billions of angels and heavenly soldiers as His workers.
I hope that you will realize even more that you have to give thanks to God and live truly loving the Lord, thinking about the things that God and Jesus have done. In this way, if you reflect on this year and think deeply, you can see that the Lord has made so many great histories among us, even though they may not be easily recognizable from a physical standpoint.
Be firm. Be bold. Keep your faith. Jesus is always with you. Believe and take action. If you keep these words to the end, you will not be hurt by the second death forever.
