Wed Msg: Learn About the World of the Mind and Heart
January 27th 2010 Wednesday Message Summary
Scriptures: Luke 21:33-36, Matthew 22:36-40, Ephesians 1:17-19, Proverbs 4:23
People often say that they don’t understand their own hearts. Some people even grieve and say things don’t work out according to the way their heart wishes. We’re tormented with the hearts that we have and we want to be able to know what we can do about it. People can’t control their hearts, therefore their wishes fall short, they live in misery, and they fall in the day to day traps. They live lost and wandering without satisfaction.
Some people go through hardships as a result of doing just one wrong thing. This is how bad it can be if we don’t control our hearts. Just one wrong thing can cause so much pain. People get angry according to the conditions of their hearts. How did the condition of our hearts get like that? We let it get like that.
You must know what the heart is and know how to control it. Depending on how you think in your hearts and how you control your hearts, it can be either really great or really scary. You can do amazingly powerful things with your heart. Eventually, whatever is in your heart, your body takes action with it. Some people say they are so scared of their hearts they don’t like it.
The body is an instrument; the mind is a part of the body and the function of the brain. The brain is the mind and the bag for the mentality, and the master over the body. Animals have brains too. They have their minds or hearts, right? When a person’s brain gets injured, even if there is nothing wrong with the rest of the body the thoughts of the mind cannot function properly. If a person gets severe brain injury they become people with no thoughts in their minds.
When you were a child you thought the mind is in the heart/chest. I’m sure you thought it was strange when you found out that the brain was actually the mind. The mind ends and can no longer function once the body dies. Once the body dies, the mind dies also. This mind is called the “soul.” Doesn’t it say in the bible, “I want your spirit, soul, and body to be kept blameless for the day of Christ? (1 Thessalonians 5:23)”
The “Soul” doesn’t have a form like the body does and it doesn’t have a form like the spirit does. It is merely “thought.” God created human beings to be fascinating. The mind that is of the body becomes the master and controller over the body. He created so that all the actions of the body are controlled through the mind.
When it comes to the Body and the Mind, the most important factor is not what you were born with, but how much effort you put into making it.
Heavenly Father is good, righteous, and the essence of love. Therefore, if anyone is born on the earth, God allows them to equally benefit from night and day, the sun, air, and benefit from nature. God treats everyone with love. There is no one who does not receive basic love from God. Just as there are no children that did not receive love from their parents, the love of God is like that too. He predestined no one to go to hell. He predestined everyone to go to heaven.
“Conscience” is God’s heart and a heart that is good. God made it possible for everyone to believe in God but people did not believe, didn’t like believing, and didn’t believe in Him even though they knew God because they did not like putting God in their hearts.
All the actions that we take day to day is a result of what we’re allowing to come into our minds from the things that we see and the things that we hear. We do a variety of things according to what we see and hear. Whatever we see and hear, it is conveyed to the brain and then the brain decides. If the mind wants to, it takes action, but otherwise it doesn’t.
Look at good things and hear good things. What you see and hear ultimately becomes action. You must do things that are heavenly. Whatever your heart is set on, you will ultimately do it. We do things until we die. If they are righteous things, our spirits will take all of it with us. In other words the actions of the body that came from the body’s mind are contained in the spirit and absorbed by the spirit. Therefore, the spirit also stores the mind of the body. If the body dies in the course of doing the things its mind wants, then the body ends up as nothing more than consumables for the world.
By the things you did through your body and mind, your spirit changes. They become born again, become saved, and build up merit. So during the time you’re in this world, you must have a heavenly mind and do heavenly things. Through that, your spirit will change when the time comes and you will go to heaven according to the things you have done.
Each day you have a great opportunity to make your spirit grow. Your action is like the fertilizer to help make your spirit grow like a great tree. Jesus is working with our spirits and we must work fast to keep up with Jesus.
We must value the word. It all begins from how much we value the word. Talk to Jesus all the time just like you talk to people around you. There are many people who spend all day not saying even one thing to Jesus. Even though he waits all day for them, he does not hear anything from them. We must connect with the Lord no matter what we’re doing. Tell the Lord what is in your hearts. When you’ve done wrong, he will forgive us if his heart is inspired. We must converse with the Lord constantly.
Why are you idle? Why are you idle everyday and don’t do the things you must do each day. If we love Jesus, we will take action and we will get it done. Live as Jesus’ brides here and also in heaven. You must loosen it here in order for it to be loosened in heaven.
Always have your hearts directed toward the Lord and look to him. Just as physical eyes are always looking at the person they love, your eyes of the heart must always be pointed at the Lord. If you work with determination in your hearts like the Lord does, evangelism and management will go well. Everyone whose hearts are discouraged, get up and shine. I pray for peace to be with you.
The mind is important. The mind is the fire. The mind is the blade. In the name of the Lord I bless everyone to set their minds and take action.
