November 11th 2009 Wednesday Message Summary
Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
In the midst of Jesus conversing with his disciples at the last supper, outside was death and suffering that was awaiting him. This gathering is called the Holy Communion. Jesus must have had so much he wanted to say, but he had such little time that was left. Jesus knew about the unimaginable suffering that awaited him as well as his disciples. Jesus had all this grief in his heart, but even if he tried to explain it to his disciples, they wouldn’t have understood. In the disciple’s minds, they had no idea the deep sorrow that was going on in Jesus’ heart.
The last word’s that Jesus left was like his Will. They were words that weren’t only for his disciples, but for all the people that would believe. Jesus walked down that path giving his body for the sinners of the world.
Jesus handed over his Will to his disciples and gave them instructions on what they must do after he dies. Jesus told his disciples to eat the bread as if it were his flesh and told them to eat it so they could be a part of him and live forever. He then took a cup and told them to drink the cup as if it were his blood that he shed on their behalf and on behalf of mankind.
Jesus said, “Be my body and fulfill the Will my Father in Heaven wants fulfilled. Just as I fulfilled that Will during the time I was alive, you must live the rest of your life putting to practice the things I always told you while I was alive. I say to you clearly that your bodies are mine and I am yours. Do you believe?”
The Lord continued. “I will be with you. I will be your mind and spirit and work through your bodies as if they were my bodies. The work you must do is to continually save all the lives in the world.”
Before someone takes communion, they must be completely clean and have repented as well as be physically clean. Only those who live according to the words of this time can take the communion. It is a holy ritual where we become even more united with the Lord. It is where we take on the mind and the body of the Lord. We transform so he can use us in greater ways.
Now is a time to follow the path of life solidly by sacrificing. Now there is something that we must do. We must show people that the history that God has made through us is not wrong. We do this by continually going forward and continually preaching the truth.
Like people being astonished when they see people come from death to life, people in Jesus’ time were utterly shocked when they saw how the disciples pushed forward and made history. Right now is that time for us. We are being filled with the Holy Spirit’s fire and spreading it to the people of this world. Since we have come to life, all of us must become the Lord’s body and life. We must preach this gospel until the end.
How happy we are because we are walking the path of life. If you follow this path, there is eternal heaven. The ideal world will come as the Lord has said; we must have that faith and hope. The ideal world will come even in the midst of tribulations. Why do you worry so much? Push aside that worry and concern and be happy that you are on the path of life.
There are 2 things we must do at this time. The first thing we must do is console the Lord. Jesus says, “Please console me.” The Lord is always comforting people because he is the Messiah, but in return, people don’t console him and instead ask him more things. Through deep prayer, we must understand what Jesus is going through. Jesus needs comforting too.
Don’t just talk about a life of putting the Lord first; rather you must really live by that in your life. People don’t do it even after saying it. You must put the Lord first even in the tiniest of matters. You must call on the Lord and put him first at all times.
The second thing we must do is, “Love me truly,” the Lord says. “I will do for you whatever you want, so truly, truly love me.” The right time must come, but the Lord will ultimately give us anything we ask for.
About revelations, you must know that everyone receives revelations. The head is not the only body part, there are also the fingers. Everything has its importance. Don’t think that only big revelations are important, but even the tiny revelations you receive throughout the day are very important. You must value all revelations because they are given according to the circumstances. The Lord is near us at this time; we must realize this and look out for the signs. The Lord loves you.
