Grace [and its] Purpose
June 28th 2009 Sunday Message
Message by Joshua Jung Myung Seok
Summary by Shaun McMillan & Will Yeh
Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 6:1-2, 6-10
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are pouring out their spirit on us with an absolute purpose. What God wants to do is fulfill his Will through you. At this final time, the Lord is personally conducting everything. There is a purpose for everything that is happening right now.
When you know the specific thing that you are good at, the Holy Spirit is able to work through you even more and the Holy Spirit is happy when you know about what you’re good at. Know about the spirit you are receiving. Know what gifts you have been given.
Now that the Lord of Second Coming is at hand, he is conducting all matters and leading people accordingly. This is the time to focus on Jesus and receive the Lord of Second Coming. We have to receive the spirit of God and the Holy Spirit. We must break through the levels of servants and be adopted as children of God by receiving his spirit.
There is a reason why God is pouring down the Holy Spirit in this way. First is to make our faiths of the past be changed in a new way. Second is so that we will receive the Lord of Second Coming and become clean and repent of all of our sins. Third is because of the wickedness of the world and we received harm. The Holy Spirit is given to us at this time so we can be healed and strengthened.
During this time, we must remain clean and pure. We must not commit sins like sexual sin.
Right now, because we have received the Holy Spirit, we must go out and evangelize. Evangelism is preparation for the second coming. When you evangelize, you can prepare well for the second coming. Right now is a time where everyone in the church should go and save people.
After you evangelize, you must manage people and be consistent. Keep trying it every day. You might not succeed in the beginning, but there are steps. Keep trying it.
Plead with God to even see the Lord. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you can drive out satans, heal people and heal yourself. You can also testify really well if you receive the Holy Spirit. When you receive your spirit becomes strong and you can follow strong. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you can even prophesy and have deep conversations with the Lord.
A time is soon coming where there will be great weeping and destruction on the earth. People will cry out to the Lord, but the Lord will not answer them. The time when people say let’s meet in heaven, is near. Those who are crazy about the world will soon say they just want to live. Jesus’ words are true, preach it!
July 1st 2009 Wednesday Message
The Principle of God’s Judgment
Scriptures: John 3:17-21, John 5:20-23, John 12:46-48
Rather than telling people, “I will judge you,” the Lord always first taught people about righteousness and sin. By doing so He made people know about righteousness and about sin. He gave them words of salvation. He taught them about destruction and salvation. Their salvation and judgment was determined by whether people believed this or not.
People who don’t believe the Lord is the Savior and don’t extend their hands and hearts to the Lord get carried away by the swift current, go through all kinds of suffering, and get swept up in the muddy waters called sin. In other words they go through the suffering of judgment. Ultimately they get swept out into the ocean of destruction.
Why we suffer
We suffer for the sake of righteousness because we are trying to live righteous lives. We go through suffering as training sometimes in order to become used by the Lord in the future. There is also a suffering we go through in the course of growing in the world of righteousness. Suffering comes from sacrificing for others and suffering the pain of carrying their cross. We also go through suffering that comes from setting conditions to receive God’s blessings. Satan torments us when we sin as a result of not believing in God properly and we suffer.
The suffering righteous people go through is hope-filled suffering for the sake of glory more than suffering caused by sin or satan due to sin. This is suffering we go through in the course of following the Lord.
Now I will tell you about judgment
“Judgment happens in an instant.” Judgment ends like a building crumbling. It is like a bomb going off in a battlefield. It is over in an instant. Your room was full of mosquitoes and they sucked your blood and tormented you all night. Therefore, you must judge them. If you spray mosquito spray for a minute, they die in an instant.
Now let’s see what kinds of people He judges
1. People whose bodies are alive but whose spirits are dead. Fundamentally, the Lord warns those who think their thoughts are alive but from the Lord’s point of view, they are dead. “If your faiths are awake, strengthen what is dying and make your actions perfect. Repent. If you don’t repent, God will judge.” (Revelations 3:1-3)
2. He warned believers who were neither hot nor cold and said, “I want you to hurry up and be either cold or hot in your actions. If you don’t, I will judge.” (Revelations 3:15)
3. He also warned the believers who lost their first love. “Find your first faith. Find your first love again. Find your first love. If you don’t, I will judge you.” (Revelations 2:5)
4. He warned people that “idol worship, idolatry, faith that is adulterous, people who eat food offered to idols and defile themselves,… all of them are sins,” and told them to “Repent. If you don’t, I will judge you.” (Revelations 2:14-21)
Judgment can be seen as two major types. First, as a result of not believing in Jesus the Messiah sent by God, people don’t believe and don’t follow His words and get judged on their own as a result of that. Second, the Lord personally judges with his own words. Now you understand the principles of judgment after hearing this message, right?
When mosquitoes are in the room you spray mosquito spray to kill the mosquitoes, not to kill people. Now understand about the principle of God’s judgment.
We must pray and sing praises and give glory to God at this time. We must work as one.
