Be Prepared. The Lord Comes at a Time You Really Do Not Expect
March 15th 2009 Sunday Message Summary
Original Message by Joshua Jung Myung Seok
Summary by Will Yeh & Shaun McMillan
Scriptures: Matthew 24:40-51
We must live according to these words that we hear; they are the absolute words from God. It’s like having the phone number to Heaven, if we forget even one number, we can’t call. So in this way, we can’t forget or add anything to God’s word.
Don’t touch the original and don’t alter it. Know the essence and the true meaning of the word. This is why we must take the bible for what it is. We can explain it, but don’t stray from the word. We must not add or take things away from it. Things must be delivered as they are, but they must be explained properly.
Some people will be left behind at the second coming, because they were not completely ready and prepared, and they were not awake. Only those who are completely ready can receive Jesus. Jesus will not come like a thief to those who are awake and ready.
It’s during the process you must repent and make yourselves clean. History happens in the same way. People who live like this will receive the Lord.
You must know the original word. If you don’t, it’s like a person who starts off and starts walking but gets lost, and keeps going but ends up going in circles. In this way, you must know the word, where it came from, and the original message.
Think about all the sins you’ve ever committed. Don’t do it again, and follow the Lord’s instructions, then you will be forgiven as promised. You must repent about every single little sin you’ve committed. You must pray to God in the name of the Lord. You have to be forgiven by God. You must completely repent and be completely clean of all the disobedience of your life and all the things that have upset God’s heart. Do all of these things to your brothers as well.
Breaking the law is sin. Not doing something you should have done is also sin. You must know about sin and you must repent and make yourselves clean and pure. People who’ve repented have to live being united with the Lord. You have to live serving him and worshiping him wherever you go. You have to put the Lord first. Of course you have to do various other things, but you should do all those things after you’ve done the work of the Lord.
If you live putting the Lord’s work first, then you wont have any time being consumed by the world. If you only follow the one you love around, then you wont have any time doing your own things. In this way, if we do everything only for the Lord, we wont have any time for eating sleeping, etc. This is to truly live putting the Lord first.
Do everything with absolute obedience, with faithful and joyful hearts. Do the work till the end of your life, do everything with absolute obedience and with truly faithful hearts. So many people don’t do things until the end. They start, and then they quit. The things that they wanted don’t come true. But whether it’s a big or small task, you must reach the end in order for it to be completed. You must go to Heaven, then you are a person selected by the Lord.
March 19th 2009 Wednesday Message Summary
Title Hear My Words and Prepare
Scriptures: Matthew 24:40-51 (emphasis on verse 44)
“If you fail to use appropriate parables, it will be offensive to the palate.” Offensive to your palate in the sense that it is repulsive. The parables in the bible were so appropriate. Therefore, be careful what you say in your everyday lives. If you say something that is offensive to the palate, then it will even offend Jesus. Remember, you are standing before Jesus.
When Jesus was alive, everyone who heard the word was moved in their spirit and large crowds followed. When Jesus died, the disciples followed the example of Jesus, and made things happen. Jesus is looking at this time for the people who are setting fire to the word. People who speak carelessly in ways that don’t make sense upsets people and even Jesus.
Repenting of all the things you said is not easy. We often spew out our anger and feel so good afterwards. But repenting of every single word is not easy. Even the complaints in your heart, you need to repent for every single one. Whatever you’re angry about, you must resolve them by telling the Lord about it in prayer, only. Speak only with Jesus while walking on the narrow path, and the people also walking the narrow path.
Jesus says in the verses that one will be taken and the other will be left behind. Jesus is saying that this tragic thing will happen soon. Jesus is at the doorstep already. If you don’t have the urgency, you will lose everything.
Part of your preparation for receiving Jesus is everything that you do every single day. Think about the way you’ve done your missions. Did you do it late? Perfectly? Completely? If you’re always ready and have done your mission completely, then there’s not a problem.
Everyone, do you think the Lord’s second coming is far away? All the people preparing with urgency preparing for Jesus’ coming are people of the light and of the day. Prepare for that day so that day does not come like a thief.
Diligently prepare, and ready yourselves. This is the work you must do at this time, right now. Do the things that Jesus wants in your everyday lives. You must repent, be harmonious with each other, make yourselves clean, live putting the word to practice, etc. You must take action every single day.
Everyone, let things go then come to the Lord.
If you want to understand the result of the end of your life, miniaturize it down to one day. Consider what you do in one day. By examining 24 hours, you can tell how you will turn out. Check to see how much time you spent on your faith.
Jesus is listening to all our prayers, and he’s already set the time. You will have your time. Wait, don’t be discouraged, work hard, and be faithful. The people who receive Jesus in their everyday lives, are the people who receive Jesus on that day.
